EDDIE H. BRAILSFORD, CPA

Eddie H. Brailsford received his B.S. degree in Accounting in May 1976, and is a Life Member of the Wilberforce University Alumni Association. He received his CPA License in 1986 from the North Carolina State Board of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Brailsford completed 40 continuous years of employment, and retired from the Volvo Group, Gothenburg Sweden, on June 30, 2016, after 34 years of service. Mr. Brailsford held numerous leadership positions during his tenure, to include Vice President, Corporate Financial Reporting Americas (North America and South America) and Chief Financial Controller, Volvo Trucks North America. Mr. Brailsford is a global finance executive with experience in many areas of accounting and finance. During his tenure at Volvo, Mr. Brailsford was also a Board Member and Chairman of the Audit Committee, Petro Stopping Centers, LLP and Board Member, Volvo Group Canada, Inc. Before joining Volvo, Mr. Brailsford was employed by Union Carbide and Miller Brewing Company. During his employment years, Mr. Brailsford was affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Black Accountants.
In addition to his professional career, Mr. Brailsford is either currently serving or has served the following organizations: Steward and Treasurer, Bethel AME Church, Greensboro, NC; Board of Management Member, Hayes-Taylor YMCA; Board Member and Treasurer, Royal Expressions Contemporary Ballet; Vice President, Wilberforce University Alumni Association – Greater Charlotte Chapter; Mentor, UNC-Greensboro Entrepreneurs’ Program; Vice President, National Association of Black Accountants – Triad Chapter; Board Member and Treasurer, Sickle Cell Disease Association of the Piedmont; Finance Committee Member, United Way of Greensboro; Board Member, Vice President and Treasurer, Triad Diamond Ski Club; and Treasurer, Mountain West Golf Association.
Mr. Brailsford is a native of Summerton, South Carolina. He resides in Greensboro, North Carolina. He has two (2) children, Ms. Andrea Brailsford, and Dr. Ashley Vaughns, and three (3) grandchildren.
