Kenyatta O. Martin was born in Greensboro, N.C. on January 12, 1979. He attended and graduated from Dudley High school with honors in 1997. He then went on to graduate from the United States Naval Academy of Annapolis, MD in 2001 with a degree in Engineering, where he received a commission as a Surface Warfare Naval Officer. His tours of duty include the USS Paul F. Foster (DD-964) out of Everett, WA, where he served as the Auxiliaries Officer, and Force Protection Officer, while earning his Surface Warfare Qualification, and Engineering Officer of the Watch Letter. He also served as Auxiliaries Officer and Small Boat Officer on the USS Steven W. Groves (FFG-7) out of Pascagoula, MS. He then transferred to the Navy/Marine Reserve Center Atlanta, where he served as Security Officer, Operations Officer, and Executive Officer. CDR Martin transitioned to Navy Recruiting District Atlanta in October 2008 as a Navy Reserve Canvasser (CANREC) Recruiter. He served as the Division Officer, and the MWR Treasurer with his daily duties consisting of mentoring and developing our future Officers of the Navy. Lieutenant commander Martin then transferred in 2014 from Active Duty into the reserves where he was the Officer-In-Charge of a 122 member Operational Support Unit of Marietta, GA. Concurrently, he took a position as shift supervisor, and later Production manager at PaperWorks Packaging in Whitsett, NC. He then took a position as Plant Manager in High Point, NC at Packrite until July, 2018.
He mentors, teaches, and volunteers with different organizations within his community. He has traveled the world extensively, experienced multiple cultures, languages, and worked with military officers and dignitaries from countless countries.
